Police say a car heading south on U.S. 27 at a high speed, crossed the center line and hit a northbound pick-up truck head on and then hit another vehicle. Police say the drivers of all the vehicles were taken to hospitals.

The southbound car caught fire. That driver was taken to UK Medical Center, police said.

The other two were taken to Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville.

A witness, Brandon McGlone, posted on Facebook that two police officers pulled the driver from the burning car.

“Person in flaming car (dark blue Toyota) appears to have been pulled out by two police officers who were behind him. Guy in burnt car sped past them at high rate and lost control coming into town at the curve just before LES. Went into oncoming, hitting white truck head on and side railing a black car,” McGlone wrote.
