A man was hit by a car and killed early Sunday while crossing a poorly lit stretch of Westheimer Road, according to Houston police.
The driver hit him around 2:45 a.m. in the 12800 block of Westheimer Road, along the Forest Park cemetery, police said.
Sgt. David Rose said investigators believe the man was trying to cross the road but the driver did not see him.
Police do not believe intoxication was a factor in the crash. The motorist stopped and remained at the scene.
