MECOSTA COUNTY, MI – Police say the driver of a stolen car crashed while fleeing police.
The incident happened around 12:40 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, in Mecosta County’s Austin Township.
A sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation on 120th Avenue near 11 Mile Road. The driver fled police onto a seasonal road where he lost control of his vehicle and it crashed.
The driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to a Grand Rapids hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police determined that the suspect, who faces several charges, was driving a stolen car.
