Help families around the holidays by stuffing an Easton school bus with toys and essentials - lehighvalleylive.com

It’s been a struggle this year for some Easton Area families to make ends meet.

Now imagine facing the winter holidays, wondering how you’ll come up with toys for your tree.

The “Stuff the Bus” drive will try to help these families by collecting donated toys, clothes and essentials from community residents for those who need them. It’s the third straight year for the event.

“Last year we received hundreds of toys and books, hundreds of pounds of non-perishable food, boxes of toiletries, cleaning supplies and paper products and many, many bags of new clothes and coats,” said Carolyn Serva, the executive director for Family Connection of Easton.

To help, just drop off new items at one of two locations where an Easton Area School District bus will be waiting:

  • Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, in Easton’s Centre Square near Dunkin’ Donuts.
  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29th at Easton Area High School in Palmer Township. Go to the 25th Street entrance by the baseball field

Or, you can drop off items at one of these spots during regular business hours until Nov. 30:

  • Access Networks, 225 Ferry St., Easton
  • Crayola Experience, 30 Center Square, Easton
  • Easton Wine Project, 1247 Simon Blvd., Easton
  • Fidelity Bank, 46 Centre Square, Easton
  • Fidelity Bank, 1250 Braden Blvd, Easton
  • Forks Township Parks & Rec., 500 Zucksville Rd., Forks Township
  • Fulton Bank, 280 Line St., Easton (Lobby Closed M-W, if dropping off on these days just ring bell)
  • Giant, 801 S., 25th St., Palmer Township
  • Grocery Outlet, 2451 Nazareth Rd., Palmer Township
  • Kudu Creative, 703 Wood Ave., Easton
  • Piscitello Home Center, 2300 Wood Ave., Wilson Borough
  • St. Luke’s Hospital-Easton Campus, 250 S. 21st St., Wilson Borough
  • W Graphics Digital Services, 18 N. 4th St., Easton
  • Working Dog Press, 1928 Union Blvd., Allentown

Here’s a list of suggestions for what families need. All items should be new:

Toothbrushes (adult & child), toothpaste, bar soap, adult shampoo, baby shampoo, body wash, laundry detergent, tissues, feminine hygiene items, Pull-Ups size 4T-5T, diapers (any size), books for 3rd-5th graders, toys for preschoolers through grade 5, board games, basketballs, soccer balls, kickballs, canned pasta, ravioli, soup, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, aluminum pans for turkeys, white crewneck t-shirts for middle school children, underwear for elementary school age children for school nurses’ offices, shoes for elementary school children, stretchy type pants or sweatpants for elementary school children.

Stuff the Bus is a joint effort of Family Connection of Easton, the Easton Area School District and the Easton Main Street Initiative.
