Man killed in car-to-car shooting on Lane Avenue - WJXT News4JAX

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One person is dead after a shooting that police said took place around 2 a.m. Sunday on Lane Avenue.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, an argument broke out between people in the drive-thru on a liquor store. Someone in a car with an unknown amount of passengers inside shot at the other car with three people inside, hitting one of the passengers.

The second car sped away from the scene.

Police called to reports of a shooting on Lane Avenue south of Old Middleburg Road initially did not find any victims but when state troopers pulled over a car for erratic driving near Collins Road, close to I-295, the man who was shot was found dead in the vehicle.

The driver of the car was detained for an interview.

Police have no suspect information but are canvassing the area and looking for video evidence.
