ANDOVER, Kan. (KWCH) - A car traveling eastbound on the 13th Street bridge in Andover was traveling at a high rate of speed and when it lost control and went off the bridge into southbound traffic of I-35 striking a minivan.
Capt. John Lehnherr said the accident happened at 7:50 p.m. Aug. 16.
There was one person, a man, in the car who was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The passenger, a man, in the minivan was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver, also a man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Both north and southbound lanes of I-35 will be closed until at least 11 p.m.
Capt. Lahnherr said the area where the accident happened is in a construction zone.
One person is dead after a car drove off of the 13th Street bridge in Andover.
One person has severe injuries and another has serious but not immediately life-threatening injuries.
The car landed on I-35, with all lanes blocked at this time.
Eyewitness News has a crew headed to the scene.
