ROODHOUSE — An Indiana man has been charged after his semi struck the rear of a Greenfield school bus near Roodhouse Friday afternoon.
According to the Illinois State Police, at 2:25 p.m. Friday a Greenfield Community Unit #10 bus driven by Patricia Garner, 66, of Greenfield, was northbound on Illinois 267 at Roodhouse Road and slowing for a road construction light when the bus was struck from behind by a 22017 Freightliner semi driven by Georden Easter, 29, of Indianapolis.
Both drivers declined medical attention.
The bus was carrying 16 students of various ages. No injuries among the students were reported and all of the students were released to their parents after being checked by emergency personnel.
Illinois 267 was restricted to one lane for about 2.5 hours during the incident. Easter was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
