Authorities opened an investigation this weekend after a child was found alone in a car outside a strip club in Prichard.
The investigation was initiated after two viral Facebook videos showed the child in the vehicle outside the Lotus Gentleman’s Club around 3:20 a.m. Saturday morning. At the end of the video, a woman is seen getting in the vehicle and driving away.
A man wearing a police uniform is also seen in the video, although it is not clear if he took the woman’s details or not.
The Child Advocacy Center and the Department of Human Resources are also involved in the case, according to a Prichard Police Department Social Media post.
“We’re aware of the video that was posted last night of the child left unattended in a vehicle,” said the post. “The video has been turned over to our detective who works alongside of CAC and DHR for further investigation.”
The two videos have been viewed more than 500,000 times and shared 15,000 times.
It’s not yet clear if the woman will be charged with any crime. Anyone with further information has been urged to contact local law enforcement.
