A man told police he fired shots into a car on Route 30 on Saturday because the women inside did not repay him for alcohol he bought and didn't invite him to a party, according to charging documents.
Florin Gardian, 18, of the 300 block of Arsenal Road, Manchester Township, faces one count each of propel missile into occupied vehicles, criminal mischief and carry/discharge air rifle on highway/public land/public place and three counts each of simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and sell/furnish alcohol to minors.
Gardian has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 21 before District Judge Jeffrey L. Oberdorf, according to online court dockets.
He was released from custody Saturday after posting a portion of his $10,000 bail. Gardian could not be reached for comment Monday.
Charging documents provide details
About 1:35 a.m. on Saturday, Northern York County Regional Police spoke with victims Mariah Laughman, Emily Snyder and a 17-year-old female who said they were attending a birthday party at the Days Inn when they met Gardian and a 17-year-old male in the parking lot.
"They advised they approached both males, who they had never met before, and started talking to them about the party," documents state. "The victims then asked if the males could buy them alcohol."
When Gardian and the juvenile returned with a 6-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade, the victims told them they would not pay for the alcohol and went back to their room. Some time later, the victims walked outside to find Gardian staring at them. Feeling uneasy, they got in their car to leave, and Gardian and the teen followed them in another vehicle.
"The victims advised that as they drove west on Arsenal Rd., Gardian pulled up next to their vehicle and pointed a handgun at them," according to documents. "Gardian then shot out the rear driver's side window of their vehicle."
Laughman, who was sitting on the rear driver's side of the vehicle, said she had to duck and dive to avoid being struck. The 17-year-old female, who was in the front passenger seat, said she also had to dive to avoid being hit. Snyder, who was driving, sped through a red light to get away from Gardian.

Police found Gardian at a room at the Days Inn, which is listed as his address, where he admitted to buying the hard lemonade.
"He advised he thought he would be invited to the party and got upset when he was not invited and was not paid for the alcohol," documents state. "He stated ... he was just trying to scare the victims with the airsoft gun."
Police then seized a .177 caliber Daisy BB gun from Gardian and arrested him. Police discovered that Gardian has a habit of "constantly moving around the country," and had IDs from California, Florida and Romania as well as an "international driver's license."
