Police in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, confirmed they have located a stolen car with two children inside.

The children, 6-month-old Kymere Elijah Foote and 2-year-old Kehs Maliek Spruill, were inside a silver Nissan Altima as its driver began to purchase gas from the Exxon station on the 8100 block of Ritchie Highway, near Jumpers Hole Road, at around 9 p.m. Friday.

Spokesperson Lt. Jon Mahaffee said a man jumped into the car and drove off with the two children in the back seat. The situation caused police to send out an Amber Alert.

Anne Arundel received help from dozens of its officers and utilized its aerial and K9 unites in the search. Maryland State Police also provided help to locate the children.

Before 11 p.m. officers were flagged down by a local resident. They were able to find the car with the two missing children inside, safe and unharmed.

“It is always great when we can have a happy ending, and it would not have been possible without the community’s help tonight,” Mahaffee said.

The suspect is still at-large. He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and dark pants.
