AKRON, Ohio - Starting Sept. 14, METRO RTA bus riders can schedule pick-up times in Cuyahoga Falls, Stow and Tallmadge for the cost of a regular METRO bus fare.
The “METRO Connect” service riders to schedule a trip, between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, by calling 330-376-5353. Riders can be picked up at a bus stop within the METRO Connect service area, available at akronmetro.org.
The service costs the same as a regular METRO bus fare, which is $1.25 for a single trip.
To guarantee a time for a 15-minute pick-up window, riders are encouraged to schedule their reservation at least one business day prior.
METRO CEO Dawn Distler said METRO Connect is a pilot program that could shape the way public transit looks in Summit County.
“As travel patterns change, we continue to look for innovative solutions to provide more efficient service to the communities we serve,” Distler said. “We’re proud to implement this pilot program and we look forward to evaluating its success.”
