Suspicious situation: Northwood Drive
A resident called police at 11:53 p.m. Oct. 29 about a woman who pulled into his driveway claiming to be tied up with wires. She was crying and talking to herself in the driver’s seat. She asked to use his phone. He called 911 for her. Police arrived and noted there was front end damage to the passenger’s side of the car. The woman also was driving on the rim of the front right wheel. The tire was gone. Police tried to follow the marks from the rim on the road. They also asked other surrounding cities if they had a report of a hit-skip crash. The car was towed. She was driven to her Parma Heights home and cited for drunken driving.
Suspicious vehicle: Willowbrook Court
A resident called police at 12:02 P.M. Oct. 29 about an AT&T truck that was sitting in front of the house for 45 minutes. However, the driver did not get out of the truck. The caller found this highly suspicious.
Blocked railroad crossing: Mapleway Drive
A stopped train blocked traffic at 12:44 p.m. Oct. 29. The railway company was contacted. The city cited the company. The train began moving at 1:33 p.m.
Traffic stop: Taylor Road
An officer cited a motorist at 1:32 a.m. Nov. 1 for speeding.
Car crash: Cascade Court
Police went to the scene of an accident at 6:42 a.m. Nov. 1 involving two cars. Both cars were towed. Someone in the crash was transported to the hospital. Police found a large sum of money and narcotics in one of the cars. A driver was cited for drunken driving and loss of reasonable control.
Parking violations: Columbia Road
Police cited three cars that were parked overnight in an area where that is not permitted. The citations were written between 3:09 and 3:27 a.m. Nov. 2. The cars in question were also parked on Raintree Boulevard and Redwood Drive.
