Which Southern California casinos have resumed bus programs - Press-Enterprise

rintihoh.blogspot.com

As Southern California’s tribal-owned casinos have reopened they’ve powered on slot machines, fired up the grills at restaurants and some have even cautiously waded into opening amenities such as pools.

However, one staple before the casinos closed to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus was in-house bus service. Since reopening, many have suspended in-house bus programs and bus drop-offs.

We received a number of emails from readers about busing at the casinos, so we reached out to determine the status of the bus programs.

The casinos that have suspended their programs have not offered a timeframe for their return.

Here’s a look at the busing situation for various Southern California casinos.

Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs and Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage: A spokeswoman for the two casinos said that they do not do any bus business and to her knowledge there were no plans to start taking them in the future.

Augustine Casino: The Coachella casino says that it does not have a program where it incentivizes drivers, but it does allow buses to drop guests off.

Casino Pauma: A representative for the casino said it has suspended bus service and does not have a time frame for when that might resume.

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino: Fantasy Springs did have a bus program prior to COVID-19. A spokesman said the casino’s bus program is currently on hold.

Harrah’s Resort Southern California: The Valley Center casino says it is not currently running buses to the property.

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa: Officials say that busing is not currently being offered to help actively manage capacity at the casino.

Pala Casino, Spa & Resort: Pala is allowing bus drop-offs. A spokesman said that bus groups are implementing their own safety and screening processes before letting guests board the bus, including temperature scans; sanitizing before and after each group rides the bus; plexiglass dividers between seats; and a 50% capacity limit.

Pechanga Resort Casino: The resort had a bus program before COVID-19, but it is currently suspended.

San Manuel Casino: San Manuel had a busing program before COVID-19, but it is currently suspended.

Soboba Casino: The casino is not currently running buses. “Our busing program will be reassessed as we move through the current situation,” Assistant General Manager Jason Cozart said in an e-mailed statement.

Spotlight 29 and Tortoise Rock casinos: The casinos are not currently allowing buses. There will be safety protocols and standards in place when they do resume busing, a spokesman said.
