In this week's Window Shop episode, we told our shoppers to find the most interesting modified and custom cars they could buy for under $15,000. While we started our search with visions of the sort of NOS-equipped engine-swapped turbocharged awesomeness you see in the Fast & Furious films, a few of us didn't quite hit that mark. Actually, most of us didn't even come close.
To help us find modded stuff, the C/D crew is joined by YouTuber Jason Fenske of Engineering Explained. Fenske wows us with a Ford pickup that promises near Ram TRX levels of horsepower for an equally unbelievable $7000. In addition to Fenske's finds, the C/D staff uncovers an LS-swapped second-generation Mazda RX-7, an E30 3-series with an E36 M3 engine, a very polished Mini Cooper, and yet another four-wheel-drive AMC Eagle. K.C. Colwell's near STI-spec Subaru Forester gives us pause—not because of the mods, but because of the "SUV Mendoza line." If you're not familiar with this, don't worry; it's all explained.
